On the 18th of August 2024, the St Cecilia angelic voice choir held the fourth edition of their annual ‘Echoes’ event, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Chaplaincy Building, UNIZIK, Awka, Anambra.
This year’s edition themed “Sounds of Time” music festival, also featured the homecoming of the alumni body of the organization. The event has always provided an opportunity for those who enjoy wonderful music, to relax and unwind while they are in the company of God.
Meanwhile, the highlight of the event came when ‘Oh Bless this House’ was presented by SCAVC, followed by a thunderous applause.
However, the event was categorized into three sections comprising of Cultural, Classical, and Hymns.
Additional hymns that came after in the first section were “Killing Love,” “Perfect Peace,” “It’s Well,” “Saved by Grace,” and “My Lord and Protector.” Some choristers also gave solo performances, including Chikamso, who performed the Ave Maria solo.
The second part, which is classical, began with the hymn Hallelujah (song to the tune of the Pentatonix), then Sing unto God, “Hail Judea, happy land,” and concluded with the battle of Jericho.
Ihe Omimi and Hanko Lamata were the only two songs in the culture section.
Other highlights of the event were the inaugural stage show, which featured a comedy and a dance from the Unizik chapter of Slam Theatre, and also remembering and praying for the lost SCAVA souls.
